What about suspicious activity and sanctions?

You must report suspected money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation financing or other crime to the competent financial-intelligence or law-enforcement authority, and you must not tell the customer. On a confirmed or suspected sanctions match you must not complete the transaction or release funds, must freeze or block where legally required, and must report promptly to the Commission and other Competent Authorities.

What reporting and inspections should I expect?

Periodic and event-driven returns on operations, compliance, player funds, AML, responsible gaming, complaints and ADR, incidents and finances, audited financial statements where required, and technical, financial, security, compliance and AML audits. The Commission may inspect your premises, systems and records, and you must cooperate with it and any Economic Regulator it appoints.

What happens if I breach the rules?

The Commission can issue warnings, corrective orders, remediation plans, restrictions and extra conditions, impose administrative monetary penalties where the law allows, and suspend or, where proportionate, revoke a license. Serious breaches include operating without a license, giving false information, geoblocking failures, serious AML or sanctions failures, using uncertified systems, serious player-protection failures and failing to implement an ADR decision.

Can I challenge a decision?

Final decisions are given in writing with reasons and an effective date. Reconsideration may be requested where permitted, though this does not suspend the decision unless directed, and rights of judicial or statutory review are preserved.
